The gf bought a White Macbook 3 weeks ago, the speakers are garbage, and very quiet compared to my 2 yo Macbook Pro, has this been fixed on the new 13" Pro? I find the speakers on my 17" to be quite acceptable, and they get pretty darn loud!

Whaddaya think?

I have the Collectors Edition of the Aluminum Macbook, and the speakers are pretty decent. I am very pleased with them, although they cannot compare to the 17 inch pro speakers....but still very nice to say the least.

Probably not. The speakers on the 13" MacBooks, and now MacBook Pro, have always been crappy. I blame it due to it's positioning on the back of the computer, for one.

I'd be interested to know for sure though, if there's a difference. I will probably upgrade with the money I'll get from my graduation party + new student discount. I'd like to go with the 15" but the 13" is very tempting now; still have a lot of research to do before I spend my money, though.

Yes, I feared the 13" still had those crappy speakers!

Is there any improvement at all from the white 13" to the unibody? Or no change?

They are trying to make themselves feel better about having an outdated product.

It's a joke, I could careless...seeing as I'm replacing mine next week :)

But I have no problem listening to these speakers...I think they sound quite nice.

Stop saying the uMBs were 'Collectors Editions' - no they weren't. You don't even know how to judge whether something is special or not - nor do I.

Anyway - in the Apple Store today, the speakers sounded really good - but all laptop speakers are iffy-iffy.

how are you going to tell others if what they own is "special?" its subjective in nature. if he feels his macbook is special - then it's special.

and how are you going to say the speakers sounded really good then say all speakers are iffy-iffy? ...

anyways...just thought this was a rather odd post.

The speakers on my unibody MacBook are far, far superior to those on my old black MacBook.

Night and day difference.
