Hi,
I am deliberating updating my current iMac with a new 13inch MacBook Pro. I like the portability of a 13" laptop but don't want to get a machine that's underpowered. I mainly do video editing in Final Cut and After Effects. My current iMac can pretty much handle most of the tasks unless I use some special effects, it chokes a bit.
So my question is whether the new MacBook Pro 13' with the highest specs I can get be at least as good as my current iMac.
Here are the specs for my current iMac:
27" iMac (late 2012)
Processor: 3.4 GHz Core i7
Memory: 32GB
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048MB
Here are the specs for the MacBook Pro I'm considering:
13" MacBook Pro
Processor: 3.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
Memory: 16GB
Graphics: Intel Iris Graphics 550
Thanks!
