Hi guys, recently bought the high end 15' MBP, standard spec. Whilst the majority of the time it's an impressive machine, I can't say I'm 100% happy with it. There's been a couple of problems with it, and I was just wondering if anybody could help me out with them.

Maybe once or twice a day it will freeze up, now i could possibly expcect this if I was doing some serious work on it but up to yet I haven't really pushed the boat out so to speak; some light computer games, and mainly web browsing/music/videos etc. Maybe a bit of Photoshop and InDesign, but nothing intensive. A specific time it does this is when I will be playing a YouTube video, the video itself will get laggy, and occasionally freeze completely.

As far as I can tell, looking at my Ram and CPU usage, it doesn't look like this occurs when Im maxing it all out (as I thought, it shouldn't be maxed out running Chrome, iTunes & VLC). At first I thought it could possibly be a problem with the energy saving and using the Intel graphics instead of the dedicated card. But even turning that off didn't solve it entirely.

Another annoying problem is almost everytime I open up System Preferences I get the spinning wheel for 5 seconds or so, again something I wouldn't really expect a quad core laptop to do.

As I say though, 95% of the time it's fine, and compared to my old Hackintosh setup (running a Q6600 2.4 quad) it's much faster at everything, but at times it seems to get bogged down over nothing which has me a little concerned. If anybody could possibly post any experiences they had and/or solutions or indeed identify a potential hardware/software problem it would be great!
