New 15" MBP Freezing/Lagging!

Just purchased brand new haswell base 15 rMBP. After installing some apps and setting up my system, it hangs, lags, etc. I have had to do a force shutdown, repair permissions from the recovery partition, etc. I close some windows before shutting down and the same windows pop back up after a reboot. Any ideas? Thanks!

youre not the only one, including myself with a 13" 2.4/16/256

Seems its most likely a OS problem. Many people have exchanged their notebooks only to find out it still occurs on their new notebook.

As stupid and annoying as it sounds, try a clean install of OS X 10.9.

Ugh that was my last resort. Weird that the laptop won't boot from a mavericks bootable thumb drive that I know is good... I tried a reinstall from the recovery partition, but no erase. I'll let you know how it goes tonight or tomorrow.

If anyone else has ideas, please share. Thanks.

Try resetting the PRAM & SMC and see if it helps.

Already tried. Disk util days something about error with live files... That's why I'm trying to boot from a thumb drive to do a repair but I can't...

The 13 inch problem is a non responsive keyboard/trackpad... the system itself is still fully functioning however. Your lag issues sounds totally different. Could be a bad/malfunctioning SSD. You should look into a swap.
