New 17" Macbook Pro and iPod Touch :)

I'm so excited. I've been sitting on purchasing a new laptop for almost a year now but with the release of the iPod Touch I can't wait any longer.
I've just ordered myself a brand new 17" Macbook Pro with Hi-res glossy display, 2GB RAM, 160GB 7200rpm Hard Drive and the new 16GB iPod Touch.
This computer is gonna be savage.
My current system is a 5yr old G4 667DVI Tibook with 768MB RAM and an 80GB 7200rpm HD so indulge me please and tell me how much the Santa Rosa is gonna blow my current laptop outta the water

Well i dont have the sr mbp but I do have the one befor it with the 2.33 glossy and 3 gigs of ram and it ***** on my 15inch powerbook and that was the 1.67 powerbook. The difference is far better than night and day. As for the ipod touch you should have gotten the iphone more bang for your buck.

What? I'm not the OP, but although you do get more initially for the same amount of money if you buy the iphone, you also have to pay a monthly charge, something that will end up being *far* more expensive than just buying the ipod touch.

If you need a phone, get the iphone. But why would you if you don't?

Also hacks and work arounds to get pass the phone restriction are all more or less dubious, and in the end could make your iphone all but worthless.

Im guessing someone will eventually hack the touch for a skype device, and someone will create a microphone.. Like the Griffin iTalk or similar =)

Regarding the Touch I'm from Ireland so I don't know when the iPhone will be released here. Also I think that Sony Ericcson make the best phones going(they also allow me to make my own ringtones for free using quicktime player) so I'm quite happy to have a touch screen music player with safari built in.
I can't wait!!

Are you gona upgrade the RAM to 4GB? If you are, you get urself an AWESOME OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD machine.

I cant wait to get 1 myself. not sure when though.
