I was wondering if the new 17" macbook pro has access to the hard drive like the 15" one does..

Because I want to get a SSD, but they cost too much now. So I'm planning to purchase one and change it in the macbook pro when the price drops for the SSD.

It's not officially user-serviceable like the 15-inch but you could easliy just unscrew the bottom to change the hard drive. You will void your warranty though.

I dont think it will void your warranty unless you break anything. Apple mentions on the website that you can upgrade it yourself (see attachment)
