Hi all. I just set up my new 2018 mbp and did an immigration form a back up hd. All went well and then I did a search for updates which were found and I did that update. Uppone restart I got a warning;
warning:crypto_val:eek:bject(old ox4):invalid state major_version (o)
I had to transcript warning as I was not able to do a screen shot, so it MAY not be completely accurate but close.
Anybody have any ideas what it is. I have done several first aid runs, still shows.
Thanks in advance.
John

My Imac Pro and MacBook Pro 2018 both get these errors when running first aid on the hard drive. I think Apple is aware of the problem and one would hope they address this issue at some point.

Thank you for the reply. Let's see what happens. Computer seems to be working fine, but...

Ah phew.... thought something was specially up with my machine also.

Does the error actually effect anything?

When this is the case Apple support can be lame. Did a chat with them and she just said if you have any error on first aid your SSD is broken and I should take it in for replacement.

Nah it’s fine, I have them on all my macs. Spoke to a rep they said non critical issue

I ended up erasing drive and reinstalling os and migration from bu hd. All working fine now. i think there was n issue with the first attempt to update.

I didn't even look at my update. I set it, the machine rebooted and I left to do other tasks. Later on, I came back and logged in ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's how I do updates now... I find watching it leaves too much time to think... "Is it taking longer than it should?" "Did it lock up?" "What if it locks up?" "What if I need to downgrade?" "Maybe I should have backed-up first!" "How much free space am I losing?" etc. etc. :p

Just did a first aid check on my MacBook SSD HD after installing the supplementary update No 2. No errors reported.

If that helps anybody??
