Professional photographer here...and I will be getting my new 2021 MBP Max today! YAY!!
Now the worries...
Adobe and other crucial photo workflow software have always been notorious for being behind schedule with updates necessary to run the latest macOS etc. The easy solution has been to just delay installing Apple Software updates until I read the feedback that all the bugs have been worked out. Photoshop is the "go-to" software for myself and probably most other photographers and there are a lot of plug-ins I use from non-Adobe providers as well. Currently, the opinion from the photography software world is to hold off on macOS 12 Monterey because Adobe and others have not gotten their stuff together yet. I am currently running mac OS Big Sur (11.6) on my 2019 16" MBP with no issues at all.
My new machine will most likely come loaded with macOS 12 Monterey I presume?
Couple macOS 12 with the new M1 Max Apple chips, etc, I fear a whole lot of pain migrating my old workflow to the new. This will be my only computer going forward so I do not want to be dead in the water with a new $4k+ laptop.
I guess I will find out later today, but I was wondering if anyone has any "hands-on" feedback?
Cheers!
-Mike
