Hi All,

I have a new retina macbook pro as my portable machine. I have been waiting to update my iMac to the new 27" iMac. However I am now considering just buying a 27" thunderbolt display instead and just docking my rMBP with it instead of having the iMac as well.

I wonder if you learned forum members have an opinion on this either way? What would be the best option do you think?

Thanks,
James

Go with the tb display - it will save you a lot of cash. The TB display is literally an imac without the computer.

The only thing that is swaying me is the better graphics card in the iMac and the disk capacity. I'd have to buy a TB disk as well if I went with the display only.

It would still be cheaper than the iMac tho!

James
