This has happened twice, with the battery at about 80%, I go to check my phone and nothing happens, the home button does nothing, the sleep button does nothing.

Plugging it in seems to do nothing, the only thing that has worked is plugging it in and resetting.

Is this a common problem, I'm thinking of if I'm out and this happens I can't use this fix.

Hi ajo,

Sounds like you have too many processes running in the background

Double tap the 'home' button and it will bring up a list of open apps, running along the bottom.

You need to press and hold one of these app icons, until it starts to wobble; you can then close the app by pressing the stop sign in the top left.

Best practice is to close down any apps you don't need running.

Pressing the 'home' button doesn't close apps, it just minimizes them!

Thanks, I do generally make practice of this anyway, I'm not sure how many apps were running both times but I'm using it the same way as I used my 4 and it never happened on that one.

You don't need to do that and that behavior isn't normal.

What are you doing when you say resetting? Holding the home and power until you get the slide to off?

I'd consider restoring as new to just see if that helps. Don't delete your backup. Might be hardware related and need a replacement.

Yeah im Holding the home and power button. This only works though if it is plugged into power.
