This was to be my iPhone but I got one from the ATT store so the one that arrives today will be for my VP.

To activate do I need to switch SIM cards. We have updated iTunes and he did a back up on his 5 yesterday.

Just want to get him up and running as fast as possible.

I think you need to call AT&T and give them the IMEI number so they can activate it on his account. Should not have to swap SIM cards if they can do that.

If you try to activate it before calling then it may lead to a SIM card situation.
