I've been using Apple Mail for a long time now but just recently things got messed up with it. I have two accounts that show up in it--my school account and a Gmail account. Recently, all of my emails from the Gmail account were showing up as blank. They'd still be in the mailbox but I wouldn't be able to read them and they wouldn't show up in searches.

I decided to just delete the account and start over. I added the account again, but it's been searching for mail for about ten minutes and hasn't come up with anything.

Will it actually bring all my messages from Gmail in, or will it just show new ones? How do I get it to bring all my messages in? I want all my emails, not just the new ones from now on.

I had issues setting up Mail for Leopard with Gmail.

This worked for me http://mail.google.com/support/bin/topic.py?topic=12806.

After setting up IMAP in Gmail settings, I used the Mail 3.0 (Leopard) settings.

I have all my mail available and for searching.

Thanks, that helped. I just set up Gmail in IMAP instead of POP and it worked almost right away. I always thought POP was better for some reason, but oh well
