Got my Lombard a big brother today.....a 500MHz Pismo! I'm on it right now, and I just have to say that I am VERY impressed with its' performance compared to my old 500MHz iBook that I had (Cache & Bus speed difference), and is worlds better than my 333 Lombard. I always wondered what the hype was about the Pismo.... but now I understand! Even came with a much needed ZIP drive!

Best of all, I didn't buy it... I traded the extra Dual 1.0GHz MDD I had that had no power supply or HD. The guy wanted a MDD G4, and I wanted his Pismo.

I have the same model. Max it out to 512MB RAM for the best experience. What version of OS X are you using. Panther runs best on mine.

It already has 512, but I'm gonna max it out to 1GB. It has Tiger on it and it runs pretty good. Geekbench score is 260.

My bad, thought the Pismo maxed out at 512.

They are getting quite rare but you can get G4 500-550 upgrades for Pismo. Not new anymore obviously but maybe the rare one on ebay.
