I was wondering if the new airport extreme is compatible with NTFS or must be HFS-Extended/ FAT32 formatted hard drives. I'm trying to plan a file sharing setup between my MBP and PC. If it must be HFS-Extended/ FAT32, I imagine in windowsXP it would be like mapping a network drive to access it?

I've been wondering if it supports AFP as it seems to work *much* better than SMB (faster, reconnects better/easier, etc.) - thanks for the link!

So, it sounds like you'd definitely want to format it in HFS since that's the most universal. Also, unlike FAT(32), you won't have the 2GB filesize limitations that I ran into last night trying to rsync to a FAT32 USB drive
