After exchanging my iPod touch four times a few years ago, I learned to always check for defects in my new apple products. What are some common problems that I should check my iPad for?

If you put it on your knee and press the sides down with all your strength, it will bend. If this happens you have what is known as a bent iPad.

If it's glaring, you'll know. Don't actively look for it.

Any other course of action is bound to frustrate and annoy you.

Update: I just tried to read a book underwater and now my iPad has ceased functioning. Piece of junk. Guess I'll take it into the Apple Store tomorrow because of this glaring defect.

Yes. And don't try stopping a .50 caliber bullet with it either. It fails miserably at that also.

Dead Pixels/stuck pixels dust under the screen.

From the forum (they're not hard to find) -

- Screen uniformity issues
- Flexing/rippling display under pressure
- Distracting vibration from speakers
- Uninspiring battery life

If these things will bother you, don't buy it.

This made me chuckle. My iPhone 5 has always had uninspiring battery life.

I found if you apply enough force any display will exhibit these characteristics.

You can add pinkish hue on the screen when it's off.

Nothing of that sort that I can see.

I really don't understand the huge fuss over the vibration.

Same here. Love it to death anyway. I've been using it for two years and I don't see myself replacing it anytime soon honestly. It's held up a lot better after two years than previous iPhones.
