I currently have a 2017 Pro i5 2.3, and for a few reasons toying with the idea of trading it in,

Is the current air more powerful, or more specifically, are there any configurations to avoid as they will be less powerful?
And creenwise etc, is it better or worse?

The 2020 i5 MBA benchmarks noticeably higher then the 2017 MBP nTB i5, however the cooling is less adequate then what is in the 2017 nTB MBP, but if you look at some threads on this message board there are some easy mods to better handle the cooling. I have the same Pro you have (for work) and the 2018 Air. And they feel comparable to me. Calls over Meet, anything with Chrome really, feel a tad less snappy on the Air. I imagine the newer Airs perform marginally better than my 2018.

What're your computing needs?
