I just bought a new pair of AirPods from Amazon on Prime Day. For whatever reason the right bud doesn’t connect all the time to my phone. Mostly at night. I’ve “forgotten the device” and reconnected. Turned my phone off and on again, and yes each bud is well charged as is the case. Any advice?

Can the firmware on the AirPods be updated? I know the pro model can. If so, make sure it is up to date. If it is up to date and you are still having a problem, I would return for a new pair.
