New Airport Express On The Way??

I just tried to buy an Airport Express at two different Apple Stores in Brisbane, Australia.

It seems they are out of stock and don't expect anymore of the current model. I got the impression there
may be a new version coming out to match the new 802.11n Airport Extreme Base Station.

One store mentioned that it may be worth waiting a couple of weeks, maybe someone on here has some solid info?

I need to get wireless setup, and really like the idea of wireless itunes, and like how portable the Airport Express is,
but really don't want to buy just before a new improved version comes out..

I hope so. I just bought the Base Station and I just love it. It's so easy to configure. I wouldn't mind buying an updated Airport Express unit.

Well, its no longer available online at the US Apple store. Still available as a refurb, but apparently a N version is on its way.... and soon, too.

The AirPort Extreme Base Station is still for sale.

Why would they come out with a new model weeks after releasing the current version?

Most you can expect to see is an Express version...

Sorry, I misread Express for Extreme.




Even still the Express is still for sale.

Unlikely that an Apple store employee would know any information about an upcoming Express. Sounds like he just counting on a new Express will come out in a little while. (Which is very possible)
