I've just had the most amazing idea.

The New AirTunes Base station.

-Dimensions: 1m x 30cm x 3cm
-Touch Screen
-CoverFlow (in portrait mode)
-802.11n
-40GB HD
-Apple Remote
-Inegrated iPod dock
-JBL integrate speakers

It's a metre long touch screen, 30 centimetre wide and 3 centimetere deep.
CoverFlow is touchable. So you can select your music with your finger.
This task can also be done with the Apple remote that is supplied.
It's Just like a virtual CD rack.

...or in other words a wireless-enabled iPod with the iPhone's iPod interface. :p

AirTunes is just an AirPort Express hooked into a stereo, so why would you want a touch screen on the device itself? And why would you want to watch videos on a stereo?

That seem almost pointless? Perhaps explain to me its wonder? I'm obviouly missing it at this hour of the morning.

Are you guys not getting this??

Its a wireless base station with AIRTUNES that syncs or communicates with your MAC OR BLOODY PC!!
AND THE FLIPIN' iPod dock is a function that allows you to view your music from your ipod in coverflow and play the DAMN THING FOR HELLS SAKE!

i think it may be better to just redesign the iPod HiFi with wireless (for airtunes and future wireless ipod connectifity) and a touchscreen. there's really no need at all for a hard drive in this type of device. if your computer isn't turned on, use your ipod.

for the price the iPod HiFi sells for, it should've had at least the wireless from the beginning. since they haven't discontinued the HiFi yet, i believe we'll be seeing future versions, probably with the features listed above.

I don't get your dimensions, 1 meter long and 30 cm wide? Seems a little unbalanced to me, why not making it a little shorter, so you get wide screen ratio's width and hight, and you could use it on the wall as a small TV, or as a digital photo frame you see more and more off, but this one with a little more functionality... And made available in multiple sizes :)
