Everytime I try to install an app, the App Store goes into Application Not Responding mode and I get the beachball of death. I have reinstalled 10.6.6, run disk repair, everything I can think of. Anyone getting this problem?

I have a similar problem. Every time I try to download an app, it doesn't even download. It just hangs there in the dock, but never starts installing.
When I restart the App Store, it tries automatically to resume the install. So far I haven't found a way to cancel a download. Really weird behaviour...

Btw, I've already tried to solve the problem by restarting my computer and the App Store (I even restarted iTunes). But no luck.

Me too. I also can't click on the update tab or it crashes as well. My install doesn't even start. Just clicking on install crashes it.

im also experiencing the same problem, when i try to install an app, the app store gets the beach ball and becomes unresponsive. tried rebooting and installed the mac update combo. nothing works.

I did a repair permissions on the hard drive and it worked! Everything is fine now. :)

Just kidding. I installed Twitter than uninstalled it and now I can't click on the updates tab anymore. :(
Now nothing works again..... great.

Repairing permissions seems to fix it momentarily but it breaks itself again and I will have to repair again... :-/

I had no problem whatsoever.

But then, I read something that suggested going into iTunes, downloading the free single of the week, and accepting the new terms of service. Maybe there was something to that....

i am also having no luck with my imac my macbook works fine but i think my problem is i cannot even sign in my account on my imac...so im trying a repair permission

Strange - mine is working absolutely fine.

Ive downloaded and installed a free app, then removed it - all worked fine.
Can go through all the tabs in the app store - again all fine.

My system seems as speedy as normal....

I've tried to install Minesweeper and Solitaire and it says both apps "cannot be installed on this computer." What does this mean? Bug I hope.

I've done a permission fix and still nothing. Funny thing is my sister's MBP (2010 model, same as mine) worked fine. Is there any fix for this?

iTunes Permissions

Spent a few minutes raging over the fact angry birds didn't download for me. read this thread and: i tried the itunes single of the week thing, accepting the new permissions and now it works fine!

So i assume apple just figures everyone on the app store also buys itunes things a lot

I've tried this and it still didn't work :(

I had the same issue. I opened iTunes & accepted the new EULA. Rebooted. Then everything worked great. Hope this helps anyone.

I just read Apple.com forums and found that it's the Bootcamp partition that's causing it to freeze. If you go into Finder and unmount your Bootcamp it works. So odd. Happy it works :)

Anyone else using NTFS-3G? My friends with Boot Camp partitions are without issues, however I'm the only one with NTFS-3G installed and its activity spiked after I updated to 10.6.6.

Unmounting works fine. Came to post solution but already beaten to it! :D
