I'm not having any problems with updating apps like a lot have reported, but the lack of security (IMHO) scares me a bit. My 6 year old grandson is very responsible and I have no problems letting him play games, but he does like to explore and the ability to update apps and install free apps without a password is just to much exposure.

Well it appears now that a password is required to install free apps, but none required to install updates. Does this not cause concern for anyone else?

No, because you wouldn't update an app that is not already installed right?

So now we're complaining because iOS6 isn't 6yr old proof
