I noticed it only has a DisplayPort, but couldnt I do a DVI out from my PC to a DVI/DP converter cable to plug into the monitor?

Has anyone done this?

You can do that but the biggest issue is the price of those adapters. Here is one but IMO 200 bucks for a small box is too much. You could get Dell U2711 and save some $

I have a PC and I bought the DELL monitor thinking it was an Apple display + DVI port. Wrong. The DELL U2711 and U3011 have a VERY aggressive antiglare coating that makes the whole panel "sparkle".

I immediately returned it and bought an Apple LED Cinema Display 27" + Atlona AT-DP400 DVI to mDP converter. The ACD27" has a much more vivid and vibrant image than the DELL. The Atlona adapter is a little bit pricey but imho its worth it considering the quality of the display!
