A friend just got an iPhone today; she didn't remember her old Apple ID so they made one up at the store. Given she already has an ID associated with her previous purchases, what can she do to get those transferred to her new Apple ID? And will there be a problem with iTunes syncing with her new phone?

Contact iTunes support and I'm sure they will know the answer.

Yeah, thanks, but I asked here specifically because I'm trying to find out without calling support.

You can't use purchases from a separate Apple ID to the new one. You may have to contact Apple to sort that out. But they can't help her if she doesn't remember her other ID, though giving some contact info to them may help them retrieve it... maybe. Is she logged into her ID on the computer with the old library?

Under settings (on the phone) she can go into the Store option and logout of the new id. Then login with the old. Assuming she now remembers it. Or reset the phone totally.
