I plugged my Memorex 512MB thumbdrive into the USB port in my new wired ultra-thin keyboard and I got this message...

"The USB device cannot operate because it needs more power than is available.
To correct this problem you can:
1) Plug the device into an electrical outlet if it has a power cord.
2) Unplug the device and plug it into another USB port on your computer or other device that is plugged into a power cord."

Other things (like my digital camera) work fine when plugged in to USB port.

Any reasons as to why my simple thumbrive does not?

I just tested this with another brand of thumbdrive. It uses a powered USB 2.0 port.Apparently the USB ports on the new keyboard don't supply enough power .Even though they are USB 2.0

I've had some thumb drives work and others not. It depends on how much power they draw. *shrug*

Have you seen this thread? I am going to try the "power reset" trick when I get home, but Apple is claiming the thumb drive should work as long as nothing else is plugged in (including a mouse).
