Apple has announced that it will be holding a grand opening for its Potomac Town Center retail store in Woodbridge, Virginia this Saturday at 10:00 AM.

Located right off of Interstate 95 about 20-25 miles south of Washington, DC, the new store is located in the Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center, a nearly year-old outdoor shopping center anchored by a Wegmans supermarket. The new Apple retail store occupies about 7,000 square feet, making it a fairly standard-sized location among Apple's mall-based stores.

Update: Apple's new Guildford Town Centre retail store in Surrey, British Columbia is also opening on Saturday.

(Thanks, Jim!)

Thank goodness. The other Apple stores around here are either in town centers with crap parking (Clarendon, Reston, Georgetown) or Malls (Tysons Corner, Fair Oaks, Pentagon City).

I guess I shouldn't be a brat and complain about having 6 (now 7) Apple stores within 15 miles of my house, but it really was a pain if I wanted something quick.

Parking in Clarendon really isn't that bad. There is a parking garage not 1,000 feet from the Apple store on the other side of the horseshoe.

The parking garage is under the Apple store in Clarendon.

Also the Hoodbridge store will be robbed within 6 months.

So happy about this! I live hour from all the Apple stores in the DC area, now I have one that is 15 miles from my house! Wish they would have put one in the Central Park area of Fredericksburg. But this will do just fine.

Really?

Looks like a long abandoned tech store from the 80's.

You do realize that the in the picture, the glass is covered by black privacy tape? Once that is removed and the store is lighted, it will look much nicer.

Anyone standing in line to be the first?

I've never been to an Apple store opening and I was wondering the same thing. Freebies, raffles, discount coupons?

I went to a regrand opening after a remodel in a store in MD. They gave out free apple tshirts with the name of the store on them so I wonder what comes from a newly opened store.

The less people crowding around my home store at Oakridge, the better :p. I'll have to make the trip to Guildford, apparently that mall's reno and expansion is pretty nice.

Surprisingly nice for Surrey. Feels like they actually have a real mall now, even more so with an Apple Store coming in.
