i just got my parents a mac mini this weekend. They love it but they have dial up internet. I did all the updates before I gave them the computer but was wondering if there is a way to download the new apple updates on a disc, then burn it and give it too them? 50 meg. updates would take weeks on a dial-up internet.

Yep, shouldn't be a problem, you just download them from the Apple support website. 50MB on dial-up takes about 2.5 hours, it's horrible, I hate that I can't get broadband or cable.

I did this when I was studying in London and didn't have internet in my flat. I'd just bring a USB key and put the updates on there & then bring it back home. It does wonders.

One of the updates also gave me upgraded Airport range, which let me tap into a mysterious invisible wireless signal :)
