New Apple Watch - Cannot update to 1.01

Got the missus a new SS 38mm Watch on Monday. All setup and works great. Every time I try and update to 1.01 it says "Unable to check for update" I have tried starting again, updated to iOS 9 and been on the phone to Apple for an hour. No luck whatever I do.

Anyone have any ideas? 1.01 works much better with raise to wrist and she should be able to use the watch as everyone else. Apple just said after trying everything again that the pulling of WatchOS 2 has probably affected the servers! It was happening Monday before that was due to seems doubtful.

A lot of people are getting that error at the moment, including myself. I'd imagine it has something to do with Apple pulling the WatchOS 2 update on Wednesday. I may be wrong, but it's highly possible that you will not be able to update the Watch OS, until Apple fixes the last minute bug, and releases WatchOS 2.

You may never be able to update to 1.01 as 2.0 will arrive when they get it fixed.
