I just bought an Apple Watch Ultra 2 and noticed that the Digital Crown has no resistance when scrolling, making it easy to activate unintentionally. When it rubs against my skin—like when I raise my wrist—it seems to trigger unintended scrolling, which causes the screen to blur.

Has anyone else experienced this, or could my Apple Watch be defective?

Is there a way to completely disable Digital Crown scrolling in settings? I don’t use it, so turning it off would solve my issue. I know the “Wake on Crown Rotation” setting only works when the screen is off, but I’m looking for a way to fully disable scrolling altogether.

For context, my watch fits snugly on my wrist, and the band is not loose. I’ve never had this issue with the Digital Crown on any of my previous Apple Watches.

If factory resetting the watch doesn't work, I would bring it to a store for a repair appointment.

I’ve had U2 since launch, yes, little to no resistance on the crown.
When you move the crown one way, you get your notifications, and the other way your Smart Stack, never seen a blurry watch face.

There is no setting to disable crown movement.

I have never really noticed crown movement tbh, how tight are you wearing the watch and which band? I use ocean band and I can squeeze my little finger between the band and wrist, never had an issue with that. Maybe loosen the band a little if possible.

Agreeing with @jz0309, that's normal. I have a first edition Ultra2 and the crown has no resistance, but I've never accidentally activated it before. The crown is indeed an occasional source of irritation because if I move just right it'll pinch my wrist, but I ended up flipping the watch around so the crown pointed the other way and that stopped it.

My Ultra2's crown has no resistance. I get haptic feedback but it moves smoothly. I've never had issues with my wrist causing the crown to scroll so I can't comment on that. Maybe a pic of the watch on your wrist would clarify.

Same for me. Smooth resistance free rolling when I'm on the watch face. I get the haptic feedback once i go into menus.
