I've been using the same workflow for about 15 months now, and for the last few weeks (I believe since the last security update) it hasn't been working. I didn't make ANY changes to it. One day it worked - the next day it didn't.
The workflow takes images, changes the filetype to jpg (via preview), and then renames them sequentially (1.jpg, 2.jpg, etc), via Finder.
I did a little troubleshooting and found that it was the renaming causing the workflow to fail. I run a Macbook pro and I had a buddy that has a Macbook try on HIS machine, and he says he now gets an error when he tries to use Automator to rename images sequentially as well.
So, a couple of things -
1) Can anyone try and use automator to rename finder items sequentially, replacing the name with just the sequential number, and see if it works for them? It doesn't for either of us.
2) Can anyone with some knowledge about such things explain what the problem might be? The error is "Can't make item '1.jpg' of <<class cfol>> "" of application "Finder" into type alias. (-1700)" If it helps there's some other weird behavior too. It's leaving the original image sit but creating a copy of the images in the Trash, etc.
Thanks in advance for any help. I use this workflow a TON, and if I have to start renaming hundreds of images by hand it'd be awful
