I declined the initial offer to download the new iLife and iWork suites to my new iPad mini. Now, it's telling me they cost. The apple store employees I'm currently talking to are claiming the only solution is reset. Is that really true? Thx!

So, apparently the solution is to select the "Pages. Numbers. Keynote." and "iPhoto. iMovie. GarageBand." blocks from the "Enhanced for the new iPads." section of the App Store. From there it gave the option to download for free. If I just searched for iPhoto or Numbers of whatever in the App Store, it wanted to charge me.

I have to say that while I haven't found the Apple geniuses to be any more genius than the Dell support people I've been inflicted with over the last few years, they are at least in person and friendly. Being able to stand there until it gets resolved is significantly better than sitting on hold...
