I recently noticed that my daughter was somehow playing a game for an unusual amount of time. When I checked in screen time, the game did not have an hourglass next to the listing and when I looked at the current so limited, the “games” category was checked, so all of the games on the phone were included. I went into the category and verified that the game I was concerned with was listed and had a check by it.

i found at least one more that was added a couple weeks ago and it was the same situation.

any ideas?

I figured it out. I had to quickly get my daughter up and running for a school thing and instead of referring to turn things back on, I didn’t and she’s had a nice little run of freedom. That ends today!

How did you fix it? I realized last night screentime wasn’t working right. I have my sons phone set to lockdown at 10pm. He’s only allowed access to phone, messages, and FaceTime. Within those he’s only allowed specific contacts (immediate family). Last night I realized it wasn’t locking it down to specific contacts. So I removed messages and FaceTime and just left the phone. I noticed though that there was a few apps that weren’t locked down, however they aren’t in the approved list.

If you've eliminated any missed things in screen time on your part the best thing is to sign his phone out of iCloud and back in.

If that doesn't work, try starting over with each restriction I.e. make sure the time restriction kicks in, then add the contacts.

No offense, but there are so many places in screen time where things can be set, you probably are just missing something. It isn't very obvious.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ll try the suggestions.

Signing out and back into iCloud fixed the issue! Thanks.
