If I purchase an iPhone 4 through Apple.com, can I go into an AT&T store to change my single line into a family line along with adding additional services? Since I'm a new customer, when will my contract OFFICIALLY start? When I activate it through iTunes? If so, should I bring it into an AT&T store and let them activate it since I'm also getting another line.

Also I qualify for a FAN discount, but I don't have the email to my company that I work for, but I do have the FAN #.
Apple doesn't handle FAN accounts, AFAIK, that's completely within AT&T and you need to contact them to ensure your account is setup correctly.
Personally, when I first signed up for an iPhone I went with AT&T just for this reason, it was much simpler to get it all done. Of course, when I first bought the iPhone, it wasn't on launch day, nor was the AT&T store a zoo.
