Ok so I was interested into switching from my grandfathered plan to the new Unlimited Plus plan since they said it was gonna be $90 and I will finally be able to hotspot but now when I went to change I see this prices. what am I doing wrong and what are those two $20 charges for exactly?

Plus, shouldn't it be $100 for 1 line/device? Not $115?

There are 2 devices. So it's $115 for the base plan and $20 per line.

Single line is $70 + 20 for device. So $90.

Yes there's an iPad but does that affect? I mean my iPad is running on a 256mb data plan and I have no interest in adding unlimited data to it.

If your iPad is on post paid which apparently this because it's on AT&T Next. It will become unlimited. That's the cost you see.

The website is full of errors. Don't pay any attention to it. Use the iPhone AT&T app. Works perfectly.

So there's no way for me to keep the iPad on 256mb and just add the unlimited plan to the phone until I finish paying the AT&T Next on the iPad?

How much do does your total bill come out to now as apposed to the new plan and how were the next payments factored into your bill?

You also have to keep in mind that the $20 is an additional charge not including your Next payments.

My iPhone 6+ is paid off via Next and I'm seeing the $20 charge/fee as well.

Unfortunately not. Once paid off you can prepay it through the iPad itself.

So if you are not on next do you NOT have those extra $20 charges?

The $20 fee appears to be a line access fee, something that I myself wasn't being billed for and they don't mention in the fine print.

I knew there had to be a catch.

Ok so to make sure I got everything clear when I finish paying off my iPad and take it down from AT&T it should look like this right?

What are you talking about. It's in the fine print. Each device is charged $20. Its even listed in the article on the front page.

$20 per line. Listed right here. There is no catch and there is no hiding it. It's well known.

Yes.

Ok thanks everyone, finally this all makes sense, I guess I'll finish paying the iPad in the coming months or so, just in case I'll still pass by AT&T tomorrow or tonight to see if in store there's a way to keep the iPad on 256mb and just upgrade the phone plan. Doubt it tho, AT&T always trying to find ways to suck more and more money out of us.

Yes.

Correct, for each additional line. I have no other phones on my plan so essentially that's an extra $20 that I have to pay which is not outlined on the fine print.

I think I understand though and I misread. Sucks having to pay an access fee but I say it was worth it for what I'm getting right now.

Yes it is. It's 90 for the line. But the plan itself is 70. (For the plus). It's all outlined. They didnt magically make it $20 more overnight.

man I got a bad feeling come next year ATT is gonna shaft all of us with a price hike. uuuggghhh.
