I'm pretty sure that amazon has already price dropped the early 08 macbook pros.
MB133LL/A - $1594 - $150 rebate = $1444 (2.4Ghz)
MB134LL/A - $1794 - $150 rebate = $1644 (2.5Ghz)
I believe the original price points were $1999 & $2499 for these right? If so, that's about a $400 price drop for the base model and a $700 price drop for the higher end model.
Considering if it's more worth it to get high end previous generation MBP over a new MBP.
Old MBP Pros - Matte screen, firewire 400 (and 800), 512MB 8600GT, Cheaper upgrades for RAM (if I want to upgrade to 4gig RAM), faster processor (2.5Ghz), lighter (5.4lbs vs 5.5lbs - negligible), cost ($1650 vs. $1850, assuming $2k - $150 rebate at amazon), traditional keyboard (vs. chiclets), 6MB L2 cache
New MBP Pros - Battery life, LED Screen, Glass trackpad w/ more gestures, easy user upgradeable HD + memory, Two graphics cards
