I just had my battery replaced on my MacBook Pro 16 in 2019, but the charge does not appear to last very long. How many hours should I expect?

Where battery sourced from? Replacement battery... what is the power capacity (mAH) and watt-hours (Wh)?

Marci – to clarify: you're wondering how long the replacement battery should last after six years of use?

(Update: oh, I see. I'm gathering "MacBook Pro 16 in 2019" means "16-inch MacBook Pro from 2019".)

Depending on how long that battery has been sitting on a shelf or in a warehouse, it may have naturally degraded to a certain extent. It's not uncommon for replacement batteries for older devices (whether laptops or phones) to have been made 3+ before being installed into those systems.

Well they replaced the replacement battery and told me they watched a 3 hour movie to test it and it was fine.

I just put on a movie on a full charge with all other programs closed and battery was dead in less than 90 minutes. I’m tired of them jerking me around. This is a certified Apple Repair shop. Closest Apple Store is over two hours away.

100% charged and only 90 min just watching a movie? LOL, no way. Now if you were exporting a movie with Final Cut Pro or Compressor and working in Photoshop at the same time and any other apps that would max out the computer, then OK, 90 min it could be but even then, that is a bit on the low side fully maxed out.

Either way, if I knew the Apple Repair shop then I would just go in there and say it isn't working correctly and state exactly what I did to prove it. Apple's 11 Hour battery life claim for the 16-inch is measured as:

Up to 11 hours wireless web
Up to 11 hours Apple TV app movie playback
Up to 30 days of standby time

"Testing conducted by Apple in October 2019 using preproduction 2.3GHz 8-core Intel Core i9-based 16-inch MacBook Pro systems with 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD. The wireless web test measures battery life by wirelessly browsing 25 popular websites with display brightness set to 12 clicks from bottom or 75%. The Apple TV app movie playback test measures battery life by playing back HD 1080p content with display brightness set to 12 clicks from bottom or 75%. The standby test measures battery life by allowing a system, connected to a wireless network and signed in to an iCloud account, to enter standby mode with Safari and Mail applications launched and all system settings left at default. Battery life varies by use and configuration."

Movie watching is one of the easiest tasks a MBP can do. Getting a new Apple battery should be close to these specs somewhere. But 90 min or even 3 hours simply watching a movie is not it.

Edit: I would also ask if this is a real OEM Apple battery or from a third party. If it is a new OEM Battery both times, then there is something else wrong somewhere, since this is the second "new" Apple battery they put in. Apple would be shipping faulty batteries both times or something else is wrong that they are not seeing or testing/checking for.
