New Battery or new computer?

The battery of my mac book pro (2006 model) is only working at 40% capacity and I'm contemplating weather to just go for a new computer or replace the battery!

Does anyone have any experience in replacing Mac laptop batteries?

What the heck would replacing the computer do? The battery is the only thing that that needs changed.

Please forgive the attitude of the poster above, he knows not what he does.

Replacing the battery is a snap in that model. If the computer still runs fine, why even consider a new one?
