I have an older 15in Macbook Pro that needs a new battery. I've been looking around and ebay seems to have a lot of them, but are these batteries any good? If you ask me the one from Apple sucks so paying the $130 they want for a replacement battery seems a bit foolish.

So, can anyone steer me in a good direction here?

If you can get to an Apple Store, ask for an OEM battery. It's new, but it comes in a regular white box and has a 3 month warranty instead of the 12 and it will be around $90.

Yep, this is like using the generic oil from a gas station in your Bugatti.

Why are you debating $50 on a $2000 machine?

Because, quite honestly, the factory battery was junk.. so if all i'm going to get is junk, then why pay more for it? And this ol' mac is hardly worth 2k anymore.

I bought two for less than 50 bucks on Ebay. The first one was great and worked like the original one. The second one had an autonomy of less than two hours. You have to be lucky so.
