new bootcamp not updated on mid 2010 mbp

Hello my mates mbp mid 2010 is saying install windows 7 when mine says install windows 7 or later. I have a mid 2012 mbpr and we are trying to install windows on his.

He has ML and the latest version of Bootcamp in version number but for some reason it wont boot the usb even though I have used it many many times.

try using a dvd or holding option during load-up to manually select the usb drive.
