BusinessWeek has an article that discusses a new broadband policy being considered by internet cable providers that would charge users for the amount they download.

Personally, I'm of two minds concerning this policy. One part of me hates this policy since it means less file swapping for me. Another part of me, however, think that the cable companies do have a right to charge those who use their services more than those who use it less. This plan to attack piracy is one that I actually support, since it's less invasive (i.e. CDs that dictate how I can play them) and it's quite fair (i.e. the more you use, the more you pay).
