Hi guys,

maybe I am just paranoid but please listen to me for a moment:

For the last several weeks, I've been following a thread on discussions.apple.com with people talking about the 24" LED Cinema Display. Now... I've noticed something:

Until today there were the following categories :

1. Computing Hardware/Apple Displays/30" Cinema Display
2. Computing Hardware/Apple Displays/24" LED Cinema Display
3. Computing Hardware/Apple Displays/Older Displays...
4. ...

Today Apple changed the structure to this :

1. Computing Hardware/Apple Displays/Apple Cinema Displays (LCD) - Aluminum enclosure
2. Computing Hardware/Apple Displays/Apple Cinema Displays (LCD) - Clear enclosure
3. Computing Hardware/Apple Displays/Older Displays...
4. ...

The last time they changed something was 2008 with the new LED Display!

Now I am wondering... IS THERE SOMETHING GOING ON ???

I hope Apple release the LED 30 inch man i've been waiting for a long time, they need to revamp the display line like 21-22 inch LED for the entry level Apple display and a 24- LED Cinema (already out) for mid-range level 27-inch LED and even larger 32-inch LED for the high-end level, Apple has updated everything else but the displays whats taking so long

I've been waiting 3 -YEARS- to buy a 30" display (actually I'll probably buy 2). I want LED backlit, it MUST be matte and I want an apple product. My patience is about out - I've currently planned that if it's not here by this summer, I'm just to buy a freaking dell and live with the frustration of looking at it's ugliness every day.

My patience is wearing thin, Steve Jobs.

A 27" ACD or an updated 30" ACD would really be great! If priced right, they would probably be selling like hotcakes - considering all the pent-up demand.

REALLY want a 27" ACD. Better pixel density than the 30" ACD, and no graininess.

OMG guys! Here's a leaked image of Apple's brand new Clear enclosure ACD :

problem with 27" Dell monitor

The difference with this Dell monitor is that it still doesn't use LED backlighting, which is the deal breaker. I'm on a 3008wfp right now, and that's my one complaint vs. the ACD and new imac LED backlit displays. Definitely more eye strain with the non LED backlit displays now that I'm used to my LED LCD MBP, and the new imac displays.

in need of a new display too!
my 30" is getting to small, and if they're about to release something better, im not going to get me another 30inch...

37inch, 4500x2200 would be about what i want!

I want a 7680x4800 42" monitor, but that will require a new specification of DisplayPort or HDMI, and resolution independence.

Highly unlikely that we see anything beyond 3840 × 2160 (maximum display port resolution) in the next 5 years.
The industry just jumped to DP, but I would be VERY pleased with that resolution in something like 36" 16/9.

Hmm...that looks lovely. But 37" is huge! Unless you put quite a bit of separation between your eyes and the monitor, I suspect that your neck would get sore rather quickly.

Nah, look at Tom Cruise in Minority Report. Manipulating images on multiple holo-projected monitors surrounding him. This is the future!

I bought a refurb Apple 24" display for $599. Those things come and go so quickly in the refurb store (not available right now) so I jumped on it when it came available. However, i'm NOT going to open the box until the new Macbook Pros are released. If they come out w/ a 27" LED cinema display, then depending on pricing, i'll likely return the refurb unopened box and get the 27"er.

I wish Apple would get resolution independence working before changing out all of their displays and portables to use higher resolution panels. I'm frustrated at my 27" now and am about to sell my iMac to go back to a 24" Cinema. Higher resolution is great if you can actually read whats on the screen.

Not sure what your problem is exactly, but I haven't had any problems reading on mine.
