Hi everyone,
I just picked up a cMBP 15" hi-res display/1tb drive/8gb ram.
I also ordered the samsung 840 pro 512gb ssd (ebay $539), crutial 16gb kit ($89 at crucial) and the UJ267 blu-ray player burner ($250).
I installed SSD and RAM and the OSX ML boots up in 12 sec. As for the win7 bookcamp, it seems abit slower to boot. I also got a blue screen of death. It only happened once so I hope it doesnt happen again. I usually run my daily routine on win7 and i will start learning to develop ios apps on the osx ml so I need both OS. Has anyone experienced the bluescreen with their SSD or RAM upgrade? I read these were the best upgrades so I went with them.
Im waiting for the bluray drive to come in. I cant wait to install that as well.
btw,the upgrade was very simple. Just be sure where the screws go back in and do not over tighten initially. Just lighly screw each one in. Once you are sure non has resistance, then tighten them all in. Be sure to unplug the battery before you touch anything in there. And use the correct screw drivers. You dont want to strip those tiny screws.
Regards,
calvin
