The HP is $549 straight from HP and even cheaper from online stores.

This is not a Windows or Mac bashing thread just wanted to get few honest opinions, I think both platforms are very solid these days for an adult responsible user.

Thats a very average HP but it still won't run OSX.

It's a neat little PC box. However with the mini you can run both OSX and Windows. No need to bash.

This is probably were the crap talking will start from others but if all I am doing is checking email and doing some light surfing what differences does OS X make over Windows ? they both take me to the same place correct ? just personal preference I assume, for example I use FireFox on both platforms at work and its the same experience no matter which OS I use. I check my Gmail account through FireFox and I surf the web using Firefox.
