There's been a new Comic Life released recently (1.3) but upon looking on their website it isn't free. Comic Life is preinstalled on my macbook, and i've updated it once before, and it's remained free, but i'm wondering if i download this and update it, will it still be the full free version that I have now, or will it be a trial? I like Comic Life and don't particularly want to lose functionality.

So if I update it, will the serial that's already on my system be carried over? Any ideas?

You should have no problem. I updated my preinstalled Comic Life app on my iMac to 1.3 without a hitch.

From plasq.com's webpage:

Comic Life 1.3 is a free update for existing registered users, which includes 'it-came-with-my-mac'.
