I got a new laptop in the past few months, but my work paid for it... I'm signed in with my Apple ID on the computer, can I get the free year with this?

Unless the computer is registered under your name and Apple ID, I doubt it.

If you were the first to sign in on that computer with your Apple ID, and it was after Sept. 10, then you should be eligible. If it is under management by your employer, probably not.
