New Connector on the New iPhone

What if the replacement to the 30-pin connector on the new iPhone was a modified MagSafe connector? It would symbolize a unity between the iPhone and Mac - and would make charging laptops and iOS devices easier.

The only question is, is it possible to modify the MagSafe so that it can transfer data without sacrificing form?
