No it doesnt take data while your phone as long as your phone isn't checking its mail every time

That's a cool calculator.

Funny thing is though I plugged in what I think I use and it was about 1.3 - 1.5 gig but I'll be lucky to use more then 300 meg

My wife uses her iPhone to mainly check her email and to surf the web very rarely. She hasn't gone over 145MB in the past 6 months. My daughter uses hers to check facebook, email, and lots of web usage and has not gone over 500MB in the past 6 months.
