New Display... 27" or other?

Hello Mac peeps,

I am in the market for a new display for my '09 mac pro. I am gravitating, naturally, to the 27" Cinema Display... however I have a few questions for you all:

-is it worth the price? What are some serious competitors by other brands?
-is it powered off the mini display port? (if not... doncha think it should be?)
-when compared to a used 30 Cinema, which would you spring for?

IMO it's worth the price provided you will not use the monitor for anything else. It is severely restricted in input flexibility....and the cords are a little too short for my liking...other than that i think it's perfect

If you want a matt screen, or more inputs...try the dell u2711. Thats the closest competitor i can think of

I'm not sure what you mean by powered by displayport...but it definitely has it's own A/C cord to plug to an outlet...The magsafe power port is meant to charge your mac laptop
