So I just tried to move some icons and it let me position them anywhere on the screen (without snapping to anywhere) in whatever order I wanted to, just like the OS X desktop, for example.

Maybe I accidentally uncovered a new feature?

I quickly recorded a video in case anybody didn't believe me. I'll post it if you want.

I believe you, but I'd like to see it.

I've not seen this bug, is it in beta 2? Really, you have to download it… It still looks like an interesting bug.

Damn that sucks! That was pretty sweet! I know it seems silly, but for a second the screen got a little more interesting.

Please don't let this be a bug. I commented on Giz today that I would like a feature that will let you move icons freely around the home screen and not have them lock down on a grid, because if you have a background of like a person, the apps are gonna lock to a grid and cover it up. pointless to have wallpapers then.
