Hi All,

With HFS formatted drives, you used to be able to have a folder at the same directory level as the Applications folder.

I got in the habit of creating a "Documents" folder to hold stuff that is Global Across all Users.

APFS - e.g. Monterey forbids this, so where is a good place to place a folder for this purpose these days?

All the Best
Dave

@chown33 beat me to it, but I didn't realise you couldn't put folders in the root anymore so I did a bit of digging, apparently in Catalina and onwards Apple provided utility to put "firmlinks" in the root (similar to Unix symlinks or macOS aliases).
