Out of the blue, my MBA with 10.8.2 starting to act very strange. It seems to be saving all new files (saved from ANY app) as hidden. They will not show up unless I run from the terminal:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles 1

The files are listed when I ls from the terminal but they will not show up on my desktop or in Finder.

I've tried, just for giggles, chflags nohidden some of the new files, but that doesn't seem to change anything.

New folders show up just fine. This only affects new files. Copied files show up just fine. Again, only new files downloaded from a browser, saved from a word processing app, saved from Preview, saved from ANY app have this issue.

I've tried relaunching Finder, restarting the MBA, logging out and back in. But nothing seems to fix this issue.

Has anyone had this happen before? If so, how do I fix it! Its highly annoying :)

Thanks!
Alan
